Summary

Tool:
BERNESE GNSS Software
Short Description:

The Bernese GNSS Software is a scientific, high-precision, multi-GNSS data processing software developed at the Astronomical Institute of the University of Bern (AIUB). It is designed for operational and highly automated GPS/GLONASS post-processing activities (Galileo capability is available but not recommended for an operational use). State-of-the-art modeling, detailed control over all relevant processing options, powerful tools for automatization, the adherence to up-to-date, internationally adopted standards, and the inherent flexibility due to a highly modular design are characteristics of the Bernese GNSS Software. The software is available on UNIX/Linux, Mac, and Windows platforms and is distributed with user-friendly GUI, a built-in HTML-based help system, an extended user manual of about 650 pages and ready-to-use processing examples for different applications:

  • PPP (basic and advanced versions)
  • RINEX-to-SINEX (double-difference network processing)
  • Clock determination (zero-difference network processing)
  • LEO precise orbit determination based on GPS-data
  • SLR validation of GNSS or LEO orbits

A regional network of 136 GNSS stations processed using Bernese GNSS Software v.5.2. A post-processing screening procedure is also proposed to detect and remove a few out-liers which may still remain due to short data gaps. The license model distinguishes between two types of users:

Bernese Gnss Software Update

  • Research users are typically universities or other institutions engaged in scientific research activities.
  • Commercial users are typically companies or public institutions (such as national mapping agencies) which bottom-line objective is not scientific research but commercial results or services.

Bernese Gnss Software Free

The research users get the software for a significantly reduced price. At the same time it is forbidden for them to sell products derived from any Bernese GNSS Software processing, either directly (e.g., coordinates) or indirectly (e.g., meteorological models including troposphere parameters estimated with the software).Further information on price and volume of sales are provided at http://www.bernese.unibe.ch/order/
